Concept

2D side scrolling, 3rd person, constant runner dynamic game where the player takes on the persona of a fast-moving zombie, who has been woken up by an earthquake. To survive he must consume brains to gain points while avoiding real food and pot holes. Created for an academic project in the form of a game application, a 2D constant runner game in development for mobile and PC platforms. Original art work and fun mechanics aim to give the player a casual gaming experience that is difficult to put down.

 

Roles covered:

Design: Original concept, mechanics, UI, UX, level layout and gameplay

2D Artist: Created the 2D art using Piskel, Photoshop and hand drawing

Programmer: Set up scripts and full game build within the Unity engine

Skills used:​​​

  • Designed and implemented effective character animations

  • Coding gameplay mechanics including a point system and high score, double jump, increasing speed and flowing dynamic background 

  • Extensive testing and documentation throughout the production

  • Researched colour scheme to make the game user friendly for individuals affected by colour blind conditions
